In the days leading up to the final episode of the Emmy-winning, Emmy-nominated, Emmy Award-winning series The Freddie and the Eddy Show, viewers have been waiting with bated breath for the premiere of the final season.
The show has been on the air for more than six years now, and the final installment, which aired on April 8, was one of the most talked about shows of all time, according to the Emmy® voting results.
On Tuesday night, however, the show’s finale episode ended in tragedy.
Freddie, the former star of The Eddy & Freddie, played by Eddie Murphy, tragically died at age 60.
Murphy’s character, who played Freddie in the series, died on Monday, and his family confirmed the news to Variety on Tuesday.
Murphy was the second youngest winner of the award, and one of three finalists in the competition.
He won the other two in 2011 and 2012.
“We are all devastated by this news,” the family said in a statement.
“This show and its viewers have always been our life’s work, and it’s a sad day for us all.
We know you have his heart on your side and will continue to work hard to make it a reality for everyone in the future.” “
Freddie’s legacy is truly a testament to the power of television.
We know you have his heart on your side and will continue to work hard to make it a reality for everyone in the future.”
The show’s final episode was written by Murphy, the son of the late director and screenwriter Robert Altman.
The series follows the exploits of two young brothers who work in an orphanage, one of which is named Freddie.
Eddy, the only other brother, is the star of the show, and is an actor who has appeared in such films as A Bronx Tale, the Oscar-winning drama Blue Valentine and the documentary, The Eddies.
“I’ve been in the industry for 25 years, and there’s been a lot of good times and bad times,” Murphy told Variety in 2011.
“It’s been rough.
It’s been hard.
It has been emotional.
I’ve always had to put myself in that position of trying to get better.
I know it’s not a perfect story. “
And then you see what happened in this show.
I know it’s not a perfect story.
But I know I’ve made some mistakes in life and it doesn’t affect my life the way it would if I had been in an abusive relationship.”
Murphy said that he was not sure whether he would make the final series, which will air in 2019, and added, “I’m not sure that I’d do it.”
The series finale was a milestone for the show.
It was the first time in its history that two of its stars, a married couple who had been together for 20 years, had not yet been married.
“The show was the most critically acclaimed series on television when it started,” Murphy said.
“When the finale came, it was a show that everybody wanted to see.
The audience loved it.
It got nominated for a whole bunch of awards, and that was the biggest moment of my life.”
