Camelot has announced a second season of its award-winning fantasy series The Secret World Of Camelot will be broadcast live on HBO from 2019.
The series is a collaboration between Camelot and Lionsgate Television that will be a two-hour epic of knights, sorcerers and dragons set in a fantasy land where dragons and fairies rule.
It follows the adventures of the seven main characters, and the adventures and struggles of the group of adventurers who come together to help them defeat the evil lord of the land, Jormag.
Camelot has already confirmed the series will be filmed in London, but it will be the first time the series has been shown in the US.
The show will have a different tone than previous seasons.
“The first season, The Secret Worlds of Camelots, was a journey into the realms of fantasy, and we wanted to create a more grounded story that reflects the world of Camelos lore,” said producer and executive producer Marlon James.
James added that the show’s setting will be one of the most important factors in deciding whether or not to air the season.
“‘The Secret Worlds’ will be set in Camelot, but will take place in a very different time period, a world of magical, mystical magic, and it will all be connected through a story about the seven heroes and the challenges they face,” he said.
In a statement, Camelot said: “With the popularity of fantasy TV shows on TV, we felt that it was important to create something new and exciting that would bring people together to connect and celebrate our shared love of fantasy.
We’re excited to see fans join us in creating stories in the world and seeing them come to life on the big screen.”
The season will air on HBO on the UK channel iPlayer.
As well as the series, the show will also be produced by Lionsgate, the same company behind the Harry Potter films, and is also being produced by Legendary Pictures.
A sequel, titled The Secret Dragons, is set to be filmed and published in 2019, and a third season is currently in the works.
