The New York Times’ Felicity Jones is a TV show and a movie actress, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to stay that way.
Jones is in talks to star in a new television series on Netflix called “The Felicity Show,” a spinoff of the popular series “The Defenders,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is set in an alternate future where “The Dark Knight Rises” had just finished shooting, and “Felicity” is now a full-fledged Marvel superhero.
Jones, who is currently filming a movie for Warner Bros. titled “The Legend of Tarzan,” is in early talks to direct.
The show, which will be co-produced by Fox, is expected to debut in 2018.
Netflix’s new streaming service, which launched in 2016, has been lauded for its high quality content, but there’s still room for improvements in terms of the content.
“Felicia” is set to be the first Netflix series to feature both female and non-binary characters, as well as be a Marvel superhero-focused show.
Jones’ casting as Felicity has already been announced, and she will join the cast of “The Legends of Tomorrow,” which also stars Henry Cavill and Greg Grunberg.
