The cast of the critically-acclaimed Castlevania franchise will win a record 2nd consecutive week at #1 in its new Disney Channel drama series, as it was nominated for the coveted Emmys on Tuesday night.
The series, which is based on the 1992 Castlevain games, was named the 2016 Television Emmy® for Outstanding Drama Series, Variety reported.
In its first two weeks, the show has been named the 2017 TV Emmy® and 2016 Drama Emmy® winners, and the Emmys were also announced for the series on Tuesday.
In the Emmy categories for Outstand Writing for Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for Comedy Series, Castlevains was nominated.
The show, which premiered on Disney XD in November, is the first original drama series in 20 years to win both honors.
It’s not the first time Castlevans has taken home the Emmies.
In 2013, the series won the Emmy for Out-standing Comedy Series for its “Castlevain and Dracula” episode, which included a clip of Dracula’s attack on his former lover, Catherine.
The first two episodes of Castlevanes 2nd season also earned Emmys for Outgoing Special Visual Effects and Outgoing Writing for Animation.
The Emmys will air live on CBS on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
